The B-604-B-21-B3E1 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the Goldline B and BH Motors series. The unit combines a permanent-magnet rotor with a frame-mounted electromagnetic brake to hold load position when power is removed, making it suitable for indexing tables, presses, and similar automation axes that demand fail-safe static torque. In motion systems it converts electrical power into controlled rotary movement while feeding position feedback to a matched drive.

During normal duty the integrated brake draws 1.27 A at 24 VDC and clamps the shaft with 48.0 N-m of holding torque, preventing drift on vertical axes. The electromagnetic coils are supplied through the drive’s brake output, so wiring is localized. For continuous motion the stator windings carry 27.7 A RMS, which at 25 °C produces a sustained torque of 31.8 N-m. Copper losses are set by a DC line-to-line resistance of 0.234 Ω, while the inductance of 6.3 mH shapes current rise time and influences drive filter design.
