The B-404-B-A3-B2 is a servo motor used for position and speed control in industrial systems. Belonging to the GOLDLINE series, the motor produces an 8 Nm holding torque. This allows the motor's electromagnetic fail-safe brakes to execute functions like static parking and emergency stop. This model can produce a 7.4 Nm continuous torque and its peak current is 18.8 Amps. The B-404-B-A3-B2 has a 0.6% average to peak voltage ripple, DC tachometer that controls the motion at very low motor speeds. This model has a 3000 rpm top speed and comes with IP 65 standard ingress protection against debris, water jets, and oily liquids. The ingress protection can be enhanced to IP 67 standards and a specially designed sealing allows the motor to be immersed in 5 psi water pressure for half an hour.
The B-404-B-A3-B2 has a low inertia rotor that enables the motor to accelerate at extremely fast rates. The motor can also deliver an unhindered performance in areas where high-speed reciprocating motion in required in dynamic conditions. Because of low inertia, the motor is also capable of rapid start-stop functions. The motor can also be used with front-mounted gearheads and NEMA mountings. The B-404-B-A3-B2 has compact dimensions. Because of its high torque to volume ratio, the motor can deliver high value to continuous torque despite the low volume of the motor. The motor’s armature can sustain temperatures up to 180 ᵒC because of its class H insulation materials.
