Product Description:
The B-206-B-21-S is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen within the Kollmorgen Goldline B and BH Motors series. This motor is intended for closed-loop motion axes where precise speed and torque regulation improve throughput and positioning accuracy in automated machinery. It converts electrical power from a matched drive into rotational energy that can be coupled to gearheads, ball screws, or direct-drive loads.
At stall, the motor delivers 6.24 N·m of continuous torque while maintaining its rated winding temperature, and the shaft can run steadily at 2800 rpm when full line voltage is applied. A torque constant of 1.08 N·m/A RMS links drive current to output torque, so current commands from the amplifier translate predictably into mechanical force. Supplying that torque requires only 5.8 A RMS of continuous line current, which minimizes heating and allows the motor to share cabinets with other heat-generating devices. During rotation, the windings generate a back electromotive force of 65.1 VRMS/kRPM; this value guides drive selection by indicating the voltage needed to reach the target speed without saturation.
The motor can absorb short bursts of up to 19.9 N·m and draws a corresponding peak current of 19.5 A RMS for rapid acceleration or disturbance rejection. A rotor inertia of 0.0002512 kg·m² provides a quick response to command changes while limiting overshoot in high-gain servo loops. The compact 92.0 mm square frame fits on a 100 mm mounting bolt circle, and an 80 mm pilot centers the housing on the machine face. A 14 mm shaft transmits power, and the overall length of 315.4 mm accommodates the magnetic stack required for the 1.80 kW rating. The electrical characteristics include an inductance of 32 mH and a DC resistance of 2.32 Ω, which the drive uses for current-loop tuning.
