The B-204-A-31-B3 is a permanent magnet servo motor produced by the company. The motor’s low moment of inertia (0.0001729 kgm2) allows it to deliver high torque in demanding environments where high-frequency point-to-point movement is required. The low inertia also contributes towards peak performance in conditions where rapid acceleration and deceleration is required. The motor comes with class H insulation material and can sustain temperatures up to 180 ᵒC. The motor has a top speed of 1900 rpm. A 13.7 Nm peak torque can be extracted from the motor. Because of its significant torque advantage, the B-204-A-31-B3 torque’s derating with increasing speed is minimum. The motor’s design is UL recognized and is protected according to the IP 67 degree protection standard. Motors designed according to this standard are protected against dust particles and low-pressure jets of water.
The B-204-A-31-B3 comes with a thermostat on board. The thermostat monitors winding temperature and prevents overtemperature failure. The motor has a 13.6 kg mass and delivers a 0.82 kW power. Apart from the standard configuration, front-mounted gearheads can be used with the motor. Optionally, mating connectors and NEMA mountings can be used with the B-204-A-31-B3. At 25 ᵒC, the motor can deliver a 4.7 Nm continuous torque. The torque value decreases only slightly for a 40 ᵒC operating temperature and stands at 4.47 Nm.
