The B-104-A-24 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the Goldline B and BH Motors series. Designed for closed-loop industrial automation, the unit couples directly to machine shafts and delivers programmable motion profiles when driven by a compatible amplifier. Its electromagnetic design converts electrical current into controlled rotary torque, allowing positioning, velocity, or tension control tasks on packaging lines, robotic axes, material-handling stations, and other automated machinery.

At a continuous stall torque of 1.55 N-m, the rotor can hold load without motion while staying within thermal limits, and it draws a continuous line current of 3.00 A RMS to maintain that torque. When the shaft spins at a rated speed of 5600 RPM, each ampere of phase current produces 0.51 N-m/A RMS, which helps the drive translate current commands into torque. A 28.1 mH phase inductance filters inverter switching edges, while the 5.30 Ω DC resistance contributes to copper losses. During acceleration, it can generate a peak torque of 4.38 N-m by momentarily rising to a peak line current of 9.0 A RMS. That short-term output corresponds to a rated power of 0.90 kW and lets the motor respond to brief load changes without exceeding insulation limits. The back electromotive force rises in proportion to speed at 31 VRMS/kRPM, which is useful when matching the motor to the available drive voltage. Low rotor inertia of 0.0000461 kg-m² supports rapid reversals and helps reduce settling time in point-to-point moves. Short bursts above the continuous operating level are possible when the thermal duty cycle remains within allowable limits.
