The DSA 014-460, manufactured by Kollmorgen, is a standard-sized drive in the DSA family of digital servo drives. It is an innovative drive solution with a highly flexible configuration that can be adjusted in multiple ways to suit different needs. It functions well as a drive for sinusoidal AC brushless motors and as a variable speed drive. It can also replace a stepper drive without any glitches. Some of the command sources for which it can be configured are a +/- 10V analog input, SERCOS motion, and direction input using electronic gearing.
With an AC input frequency that ranges between 47 Hz and 63 Hz, the nominal AC input voltage of the DSA 014-460 varies between 230 V and 480 V. Its continuous output current and intermittent output current values are 7 A and 14 A, respectively. With a 230 V AC input, the continuous power output generated by this drive is 1.5 kW. While at 460 V AC input, a 3.0 kW power output is generated. It uses a standard incremental encoder but is also compatible with single turn high resolution and multi-turn absolute encoders for more demanding tasks. The drive can as well be smoothly integrated with custom ASICs and IPMs.
The features of the DSA 014-460 can easily be configured via the DSAPro software. All configurations peculiar to this model are transferrable and can be synchronized with other DSA drives. This digital servo drive can achieve advanced speed control due to a high-velocity loop bandwidth and frequency. Ideal environmental conditions that support its optimum operation are an ambient temperature, not more than 55o C, and a maximum non-condensing humidity of 95 %. The recommended altitude for its installation is 1500 m.
