The DIGIFAS 7204 is a compact drive module produced by Kollmorgen and supplied within the DIGIFAS 7000 Servo Amplifiers series. It accepts power from a shared DC bus and converts that energy into precisely regulated three-phase currents for brushless servomotors. By providing closed-loop torque and velocity control, the unit supports coordinated motion in pick-and-place robots, indexing tables, and web handling lines where accurate speed following and rapid dynamic response are required. Its slim housing eases cabinet layout in multi-axis systems.
It delivers a rated phase current of 4.2 Arms, ensuring continuous torque production for motors with an inductance of at least 8 mH. For rapid acceleration, the module can supply a peak current of 8.4 Arms, a short-term allowance that covers dynamic overloads without excessive heating. The current loop has a controller bandwidth of 1 kHz, so commanded torque changes settle within about one millisecond.
