Intended to sit inside a control cabinet, the device receives rectified DC from a common supply, shapes it through high-frequency switching, and feeds three-phase current to synchronous servomotors. By assuming velocity, current, and fault supervision duties, it relieves the central controller of time-critical loops. It therefore functions as an independent motion axis component for packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment that demand precise torque control and coordinated positioning.

The power section is centered on a DC link of 560 V, and the current loop closes at 1 kHz so torque demand is tracked without overshoot. Under continuous duty, the amplifier delivers 2.8 Arms, while rapid indexing can draw up to 5.6 Arms. The incoming supply is rated for 1.7 kVA, and an overvoltage circuit trips at 750 V to protect semiconductors. Pulse-width modulation is generated at 8.33 kHz, limiting audible noise and smoothing motor current. A residual drop of 5 V plus 45 W of conduction loss must be removed through cabinet airflow, and the design supports motors with inductances down to 15 mH.

Continuous ballast circuitry dissipates 75 W of regenerated energy, while a pulse channel can absorb bursts up to 5.8 kW during rapid deceleration or emergency stops. The compact enclosure measures 275 x 71 x 235 mm, permitting high-density side-by-side mounting when 10 mm ventilation gaps are maintained. Idle power loss is limited to 15 W, so standby operation imposes minimal heat on the panel. Network wiring is handled through a Sub-D 9-pin socket that presents the drive as a PROFIBUS-DP node, enabling parameter downloads and status polling from the supervisory controller.
