Product Description:
Kollmorgen’s DDR Direct Drive Motors series includes the D082M-12-1310, a torque-dense rotary stage designed to mount directly to a machine load without intermediate gearing. The motor integrates a permanent-magnet rotor and stator in a compact frame to deliver precise servo performance for indexing tables, semiconductor tools, and similar automation equipment. Direct mounting eliminates belt or gear backlash, allowing the drive to position the axis accurately under closed-loop control.
The motor delivers a continuous torque of 25.9 N-m, giving machines the ability to hold and move loads steadily during duty-cycle operation. When short bursts of acceleration are needed, the drive can reach a peak torque of 92.2 N-m without exceeding its thermal limits. The winding operates with 115/230 VAC power and produces full performance at either standard mains level, simplifying cabinet design for international installations. The maximum shaft speed is 300 rpm with a 230 V supply, which is suitable for heavy, low-speed positioning tasks. Position feedback is provided by a sine encoder offering 2,097,152 counts per revolution, enabling sub-arc-second command resolution within the servo loop. A single-bearing design carries radial reaction forces, while an integral flange mount simplifies machine integration. The rotor can tolerate a moment load of 70.9 N-m and an axial compression load of 3,360 kg. The assembled unit weighs 21.5 kg.
The closed-loop system has an accuracy of ±26 arc-sec, allowing the axis to return to commanded positions without noticeable cumulative error. Repeat moves are tighter, with a repeatability of ±0.62 arc-sec, which supports high-precision pick-and-place or optical alignment tasks. Dynamic response is influenced by a rotor inertia of 0.0194 kg-m²; this moderate inertia balances quick acceleration with smooth settling when the motor is paired with a properly sized drive amplifier. The cylindrical stator fits inside a frame with an outside diameter of 8.60 in, so the motor can be embedded directly into rotary stages or C-frames where space is limited.
