Product Description:
The 00-01202-090 direct drive motor is built by Kollmorgen as part of the DDR Direct Drive Motors series. This frameless torque unit mounts directly to the machine’s driven member, eliminating belts or gear reducers while providing high-precision rotary positioning. In automated assembly cells, electronics manufacturing equipment, or metrology stages, the motor’s high torque density and continuous rotation capability support fine speed regulation, low maintenance, and improved dynamic stiffness without increasing system complexity.
Electrical performance centers on the nameplate operating point of 3000 rpm, where the coil draws 8.8 A and receives 43.4 V at the terminals to produce 284 W. The phase resistance of 0.750 ohms establishes the steady-state current for a given bus voltage and limits copper losses. A back electromotive force constant of 11.55 V/krpm indicates the voltage developed per thousand revolutions and helps determine drive voltage requirements during regeneration. Torque generation is represented by the 15.63 oz-in/A torque constant, and the motor can supply its continuous load at the rated current without saturation. For short bursts, the winding can accept 85 A and produce a peak torque of 1316 oz-in for rapid indexing or overcoming static friction.
The assembly has a maximum speed of 6000 rpm, providing commutation margin above the electrical base speed. A flange-mount pattern secures the 5.50-inch outside-diameter stator to the machine frame, while the rotor hub projects only 2.10 inches axially to conserve installation depth. The copper windings and laminated steel bring the total weight to 8.0 lb, which contributes to thermal stability during long operating cycles. Continuous stall torque is 122 oz-in, providing substantial holding capability at zero speed. The unit can sustain 128 oz-in at 25 °C or 114 oz-in when the winding temperature reaches 40 °C, providing clear derating references for fan-cooled and naturally cooled enclosures.
