Product Description:

CTP22NLS12NAA00 is step motor in the CT Series by Kollmorgen. CT Series Step motors are designed with two phases (two windings), which are energized with DC Current. After the current in one phase is reversed, the shaft moves 1.80 (one step) and is held in the new position magnetically.  The speed and location of the motor are and accurately controlled by consecutively switching the current in each phase. The CT Series Step motors are very useful for numerous different motion control applications because of high torque output and simple control.

For smoother operation and higher resolution, each step is divided into several increments by micro-stepping drives by controlling the amount of current in each phase. The performance of CT Series Step motors depends highly on the voltage and current being supplied by a drive.  You can use the CTP22NLS12NAA00 in different drives that have a wide range of current and voltage ratings. Since the performance of CT Series Step motors differs significantly with the drive, holding torque is mostly used for distinctions when comparing Kollmorgen step motors.

The holding torque specifies the highest torque that can be applied to a shaft without causing rotation in the motor shaft. It is calculated with the CTP22NLS12NAA00 at a halt and energized with rated DC current. It is important to note that the holding torque does not depend on the specific characteristics of the drive because pure DC Current stimulates the CT Series Step motor. The performance of the CTP22NLS12NAA00 is changed as the applied current and/or voltage to the motor is altered. The CT Series Step motor uses enhancing technology to give the maximum performance available.
