Product Description:
The CKM08A-AKMN2-00 is a brushless AC servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the CKM Servo Motors series. It serves as the rotary actuator in closed-loop motion modules where precise speed and torque regulation are required for placement stations, indexing tables, or light-duty gantries. By integrating with a matched servo drive and encoder feedback, the unit converts commanded current into controlled mechanical power for repetitive industrial automation cycles.
At its continuous rating, the motor delivers 0.75 kW of mechanical output while maintaining a nominal shaft speed of 3000 rpm. That speed corresponds to a steady torque of 2.387 Nm and is obtained when the drive supplies a phase current of 4.3 A. Electrical conversion is characterized by a back EMF constant of 36.83 V/Krpm, so the drive must generate approximately 110 V line to line to maintain the rated velocity. The torque constant is 0.61 Nm/A, indicating that every ampere of incremental current adds approximately 0.61 Nm to the shaft torque. Armature resistance is 2.10 Ω, producing manageable copper losses at nominal load. The 2500 ppr incremental encoder supplies detailed position feedback for closed-loop motion control.
During rapid acceleration, the winding can accept a peak current of 12.9 A, generating up to 7.161 Nm for short intervals before thermal limits are reached. The winding has an inductance of 8.6 mH, which affects current rise and the drive’s response during dynamic operation. The maximum mechanical speed is 3850 rpm, providing additional speed capacity for field-weakening operation. The rotor inertia is 0.94 kg·cm², allowing a quick response without excessive overshoot, and the 19 mm shaft transmits torque through standard keyed couplings. A flange width of 80 mm simplifies mounting to NEMA-equivalent gearboxes, while the 2.54 kg mass helps keep the overall axis weight low in compact pick-and-place systems.
