The AKMH65L-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless-steel washdown motor built by Kollmorgen for the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. It uses frame size AKMH6, a 1.4404 (316L) stainless housing with a surface roughness below 0.8 µm, and a closed keyway shaft for sanitary conveyor or agitator duty. The design omits a holding brake to avoid crevices, and the IM B5 orientation allows direct flange attachment to process equipment. With hygienic washdown construction and FDA-compliant elastomers, the unit supports frequent caustic or high-pressure cleaning in regulated environments.

During continuous operation, the motor produces 21.5 N-m while drawing 11.4 Arms. Its torque constant is 1.9 N-m/Arms. For short overloads, it can reach 58.74 N-m at up to 36.6 Arms. A back EMF value of 133.2 Vrms/kRPM affects the required DC bus voltage, and the 0.91 Ω phase resistance works with a 10-pole rotor that has a moment of inertia of 0.004 kg·m², length code 5, and a thermal time constant of 88 minutes. Position data come from a Smart Feedback Device (SFD3) with 11-bit resolution through a pre-assembled AKD cable. The IEC flange has a 186 mm outside diameter and a 130 mm pilot sealed by an FDA O-ring, while DIN 748 and DIN 6885-T1 govern the key geometry. An IM B5 layout, mineral-filled PTFE bearing surfaces, and IEC flange mounting simplify installation. The 1 m body length houses a shaft that is 32 mm in diameter and 58 mm long, finished with a mineral-filled PTFE sleeve for chemical resistance.

Current ripple is filtered by an inductance of 7.55 mH, and winding heat is dissipated along a thermal path of 0.39 °C/W. The enclosure carries a protection rating of IP69K, and a matching shaft seal helps prevent wash-jet ingress at the rotating interface. Pilot alignment, low-roughness finishes, and the mineral-filled PTFE wear layer support sanitary operation during repeated cleaning cycles.
