The AKMH54H-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless steel washdown servomotor manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. It is designed for direct machine mounting in sanitary environments. It supplies precise rotary motion to conveyors, pump drives, and form-fill-seal equipment, eliminating the need for secondary protective enclosures.

Electrical and structural limits set the operating window of the AKMH5 frame. The drive accepts a bus voltage up to 640 VDC and can deliver a peak phase current of 16.5 A, which translates into a peak shaft torque of 35.6 Nm. Continuous duty is established at 5.30 A standstill current with 13.21 Nm available at zero speed. The 1.4404 (316L) stainless housing carries an IP69K rating, while an FDA-approved O-ring seals the 148 mm flange. Installation follows IEC flange mounting in the IM B5 style, using a 110 mm pilot and a 24 mm shaft machined to DIN 748 / DIN 6885 T1. An axial bearing capacity of 1740 N protects the motor from end thrust in pumps and augers. The unit is supplied without a holding brake, and a pre-assembled AKD feedback and power cable simplifies hookup.

Dynamic accuracy is supported by a torque constant of 2.52 Nm/A and an electrical resolution of 11 bit from the SFD3 encoder, allowing fine position loops on AKD drives. Thermal equilibrium is slow, taking 80 min to rise by one temperature constant, so intermittent overloads can be absorbed without derating. Radially, the shaft end tolerates 635 N, aided by a rotor inertia of 11.90 kg·cm² and a rotor length code 4 that balances responsiveness and load matching. The ten-pole winding presents 18.3 mH of inductance and 3.22 Ω of resistance, and those values shape current loop tuning. A closed-keyway shaft works with a seal to keep media out, and the mineral-filled PTFE exterior is polished to less than 0.8 µm Ra along the 1-meter body for hygiene compliance.
