The AKMH53H-CNKNCA3K is a hygienic stainless steel washdown motor from Kollmorgen’s AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. Its 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel housing is machined to a surface roughness below 0.8 µm, allowing bacteria and residue to be rinsed away during clean-in-place cycles. Designed for face-mounted IEC installations on conveyors, fillers, and portioning equipment, the unit delivers servo-grade positioning without requiring an external protective enclosure. A factory-fitted cable terminated for AKD drives simplifies connection in sanitary production lines.

The AKMH5 frame supplies a standstill torque of 9.45 Nm and reaches a peak output of 26.7 Nm for rapid indexing. That torque is produced with a peak phase current of 19.8 A, while continuous stall operation draws 5.92 A. The windings tolerate up to 640 VDC on the DC bus, making the motor suitable for high-voltage AKD inverters. An SFD3 encoder delivers 11-bit position data for closed-loop motion control. The motor conforms to the IM B14 mounting style and has a 148 mm square flange with a face-mounting pilot. The enclosure and shaft seal provide IP69K protection against dust, high-pressure water, and high-temperature washdown. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, and its three-meter hybrid cable combines power, feedback, and protective earth conductors in a mineral-filled PTFE jacket.

Dynamic response is supported by a rotor inertia of 9.12 kg·cm² and rotor length code 3, balancing rapid speed changes against load disturbances. The mounting pilot measures 110 mm and centers the smooth 24 mm shaft for repeatable coupling alignment. A torque constant of 1.62 Nm/A links drive current commands to mechanical output. The phase inductance of 11.4 mH influences the current-loop bandwidth, while a phase resistance of 2.12 Ω limits copper losses during extended washdown duty cycles. An FDA-approved O-ring seals the flange interface and helps prevent moisture or residue from entering the mounting joint.
