The AKMH53H-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless steel washdown motor produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. The unit serves as a rotary actuator in sanitary automation zones, converting regulated DC bus energy from an AKD drive into controlled mechanical output. Its all-metal construction, sealed cable interface, and shaft protection allow direct placement on machinery that is exposed to caustic foaming agents and high-temperature cleaning. This arrangement is well suited for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical equipment where regular washdown is part of normal operation.

Under continuous stall conditions, this motor delivers 9.45 Nm while drawing 5.92 Arms, which indicates the sustained torque and current the drive must support. When the DC link is held at 640 V, the rotor can operate steadily at 3500 rpm and produce 2.20 kW of mechanical power for process equipment such as augers or indexing tables. For rapid acceleration, the electromagnetic package generates up to 26.7 Nm, giving additional margin for start-stop or cyclic motion. Internally, a Smart Feedback Device with 11-bit resolution reports position and temperature, while the phase inductance and winding resistance help shape the current loop response used by the AKD controller.

The housing has an IP69K rating, achieved with an FDA-approved O-ring flange seal and a matching shaft barrier that blocks water and detergent ingress during high-pressure cleaning. Corrosion resistance comes from 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel polished to a surface roughness below 0.8 µm. A 148 mm flange in IM B5 orientation and a 24 mm closed-keyway output shaft align with DIN 748/6885 tolerances, while mineral-filled PTFE cable armor and a one-meter pigtail support washdown service.
