The AKMH43L-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless-steel washdown motor produced by Kollmorgen within the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. Designed for direct use in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical automation lines, the motor supplies closed-loop torque and speed while tolerating frequent high-pressure sanitation. It relies on a Smart Feedback Device (SFD3) encoder for position reporting and includes a pre-assembled 1 m hybrid cable matched to AKD drives, so power and feedback pass through a single sealed connection.

Dynamic performance centers on a peak torque of 15.7 Nm, supported by a peak phase current of 44.8 A, for fast indexing, capping, or cutting moves. At zero speed, the motor can hold 4.02 Nm of static load while drawing only 9.92 A, which helps limit drive demand during dwell periods. A protection class of IP69K keeps high-velocity water and caustic cleaning agents away from internal components, and the shaft seal preserves that washdown barrier at the rotating interface. Thermal behavior includes a 63-minute thermal time constant, and the winding has 2.0 mH inductance with 0.57 Ω resistance, which shapes the electrical response managed by the AKD controller. The rotor inertia is 2.09 kg·cm², and the motor does not include a holding brake, so vertical axes require an external locking method when power is removed.

The housing is machined from 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel and polished to a surface roughness below 0.8 µm for residue-free washdown. A flange diameter of 114 mm uses an FDA-approved O-ring seal and mates to IEC flange mounts, while an 80 mm pilot centers the frame. The shaft is built to DIN 748 / DIN 6885 T1 dimensions and has a 19 mm keyed output with a closed keyway drive interface. The torque constant is 0.41 Nm/A, and the encoder provides 11 bit resolution for position loops. The motor uses frame size AKMH4, rotor length code 3, IM B5 orientation, and mineral-filled PTFE seals.
