The AKMH31H-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless-steel washdown motor built by Kollmorgen within the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. It is intended for direct-drive axes in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical automation where frequent high-pressure cleaning is routine. The motor has a smooth flange face, an IEC B5 mounting pattern, and an FDA-approved O-ring seal that help it fit pump heads, mixers, and indexing stations without trapping residue. A factory-attached drive cable simplifies installation, and the lack of a holding brake eliminates wear points when machine layouts rely on drive torque for static positioning.

At rated conditions, the motor provides a continuous stall torque of 0.99 N·m, a shaft speed limit of 6000 rpm, and an output power of 446.1 W from a 120 VAC winding. The frame is machined from 1.4404 (316L) Stainless Steel and polished to a surface roughness below 0.8 µm to resist biofilm buildup. Protection reaches IP69K, and the motor uses a 60 mm pilot with an 89 mm flange in the IM B5 style for IEC flange mounting. The 14 mm closed-keyway shaft follows DIN 748 and DIN 6885 T1 tolerances, while rotor length code 1 keeps the overall envelope compact. The motor inertia of 0.000033 kg·m² supports rapid indexing and quick response in short-cycle motion.

For short overloads, peak stall torque reaches 3.95 N·m. The drive can supply up to 5.04 Arms continuously and 23.4 Arms at peak, giving the motor additional dynamic headroom during acceleration. Position and velocity feedback are provided by a Smart Feedback Device (SFD3) encoder with 11-bit resolution, which removes the need for separate encoder cabling. The phase inductance of 2.37 mH and the 1.31 Ω resistance support stable current response in servo operation. Mineral-filled PTFE gaskets, an FDA O-ring at the flange, and the sealed shaft interface allow washdowns with caustic or hot-water jets. All electrical connections exit through the pre-molded AKD servo cable, which keeps the exterior surface smooth and easy to clean.
