The AKMH24D-ACKNCA1K hygienic stainless steel washdown servo motor is manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. Built as a compact rotary actuator, it drives pick-and-place heads, fillers, and other wet-zone stations in automated food and pharmaceutical lines. A 1.4404 (316L) stainless housing, FDA-approved O-ring flange sealing, and a surface roughness below 0.8 µm allow the unit to mount directly inside machinery, eliminating guard enclosures and reducing cleaning downtime.

Electrically, the D-wound stator produces a back electromotive force of 40.8 Vrms/kRPM, indicating the supply voltage required per speed increment. With a torque constant of 0.596 N·m/Arms, the motor generates 1.10 N·m of continuous stall torque while drawing 1.96 Arms. A winding inductance of 18.7 mH and a resistance of 9.04 Ω shape current transients and limit thermal rise. Short-term overloads are handled by 8.84 Arms of peak current through the AKD-compatible pre-assembled cable, whose mineral-filled PTFE jacket also routes Smart Feedback Device (SFD3) position data at 11-bit resolution. Because no brake is installed, the drive must supply holding torque when the shaft is stopped.

The rotor can accelerate to 8000 rpm. Its low inertia of 0.000027 kg·m² minimizes settling time, and a peak stall capability of 4.65 N·m supports indexing loads during short demand spikes. The motor occupies the AKMH2 frame and follows the IM B5 style with IEC flange mounting, while a 79 mm flange, 40 mm pilot, and 11 mm closed-keyway shaft simplify coupling. An IP69K shaft seal works with the housing's overall IP69K protection to resist high-pressure washdown. Rotor length code 4, a one-meter overall length, DIN 748 / DIN 6885 T1 compliance, and closed-keyway shaft geometry are also part of the motor configuration.
