The AKMH22E-ACKNCA1K is a hygienic stainless-steel washdown motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the AKMH Stainless Servomotors series. In the compact AKMH2 frame size, it connects directly to AKD drives through a pre-assembled 1 m cable and uses a Smart Feedback Device (SFD3) encoder for position control. An IP69K shaft seal, a stainless-steel housing, and FDA-approved O-ring flange sealing suit the motor for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical automation where high-pressure cleaning and chemical exposure are routine. Its hygienic construction also supports servo-controlled motion on conveyors, fillers, and handling equipment installed in sanitation-sensitive areas.

The motor delivers a peak torque of 3.23 Nm and has a rated speed of 3500 rpm. To reach this output, the drive can supply up to 10.9 A, while standstill operation requires 2.32 A. A torque constant of 0.30 Nm/A and a voltage constant of 20.4 mV/rpm provide predictable current-to-torque behavior. The electrical design includes 9.7 mH of inductance, 5.24 Ω of resistance, type E windings, and a 34-minute thermal time constant. This combination gives the drive stable electrical values for current regulation during servo operation. Feedback is provided with 11-bit resolution, and the rotor inertia is 0.22 kg cm² with static friction limited to 0.062 Nm.

The motor uses a 79 mm IEC flange with IM B5 geometry for straightforward alignment on compatible machine interfaces. A 40 mm pilot diameter and an 11 mm closed-keyway shaft support installation, and the design tolerates axial forces up to 600 N and radial forces of 140 N. No brake is fitted, but the magnetic circuit provides 0.65 Nm of standstill torque. If the load must remain fixed when power is removed, holding force must be provided by external means. Exterior surfaces are machined from 1.4404 (316L) stainless steel with a surface roughness below 0.8 µm, and the motor also uses mineral-filled PTFE insulation with DIN 748 and DIN 6885 compliance.
