The AKM44E-ANCNDA00 is a brushless DC servomotor from the house of Kollmorgen. It is intended for demanding servo applications. There are permanent magnets in the rotor. The motor doesn’t come with brushes, as commutation is done electronically by the servo amplifier. The device is enameled in matt black, and the finish is not resistant to solvents such as trichloroethylene and nitro-thinners. The device comes with a smooth shaft and is equipped with an ECN1x13 feedback system. The device doesn’t have a brake incorporated in it. The AKM servomotor features a PTC which is electrically isolated. The PTC doesn’t offer any kind of protection against short, heavy overloading. Axial loads should be avoided on the motor shaft as much as possible. It’s because axial loading tends to shorten the life of the motor. The static friction torque of the unit is 0.05 Nm with a tolerance of +/- 10%. The permissible radial load at the shaft end at 3000 per minute is 450 N and the permissible axial load at the shaft end at 3000 per minute is 180 N. Special care should be taken when transporting and handling the device. It is vital to ensure that the components do not bend, and insulation clearances remain unaltered. The site in which the motor is placed and stored should be completely free of conductive and aggressive material. When the motor is mounted in the V3-mounting position, the user must ensure that liquids don’t enter the bearings. If there is a need for an encapsulated assembly, one should consult the applications department of the manufacturer beforehand. The servomotor should be de-energized during assembly and wiring.
