Product Description

The AKM44E-ANCN2-N2 manufactured by Kollmorgen is intended for drives for equipment with high requirements for stability and dynamics, including machine tools, industrial robots, and textile and packing machinery. The device comes with ball bearings, which should be replaced after 20,000 operating hours under rated conditions. The bearing noise should be checked every 2,500 operating hours. If there is any noise heard, the motor operation should be stopped, and the bearings should be replaced. The motor features winding type E and a smooth shaft. It comes with a Comcoder with 2048 PPR feedback system. The angular connectors of the motor are rotatable. It is important to ensure that the motor housing is earthed safely to the PE busbar in the switch cabinet. Personal protection is not guaranteed without low-resistance earthing. There is a risk of severe injury or death from electric shock. The absence of optical displays doesn’t mean that there is an absence of voltage. Even if the motor shaft isn’t rotating, power connections may carry voltage. There is a possibility that the capacitors in the servo drive still carry a dangerous voltage a few minutes after turning off the supply voltages. To ensure safety, one should measure the DC-link voltage and then wait until the voltage has dropped below 60 V. Before installing and commissioning the AKM servomotor, it is vital to read the available documentation. If the motor is not handled properly, it can cause damage to property and harm to people. Therefore, the operator should make sure that all those who are entrusted to work on the servomotor have read and understood the manual and observe the safety notices specified in it. It should be noted that the surface of the device can be very hot when it is in operation. Sometimes, the surface temperature can exceed 100°C. So, before touching the device, it is crucial to measure the temperature and wait until the device has cooled down below 40°C.
