Its electrical data includes 3.53Nm standstill torque, 4.80A standstill current and a 480 VAC maximum mains voltage. Connection to the resolver and encoder is done via angular connectors. The resolver connection should have be round, angular, and have 12 poles while the encoder connection should be angular, round, and have 17 poles. The power connection cable should be angular. The AKM42G-ACMNEH-00 features an 84mm flange size, G winding type, and an IEC flange.
The shaft has a keyway and the connectors feature a 0.5m shielded cable with IP 20 protection category. The Kollmorgen servo motor is mounted through three orientations. The IM B5, IM V1, and IM V3. The IM B5 is the basic mounting position. When using the IM V3 orientation ensure that no liquid enters the bearing. To protect it against high temperatures, it features class F insulation material. It is intended to be driven by a SERVOSTAR servo amplifier. The amplifier evaluates the resolver position and supply sinusoidal currents to the motor. The integrated thermistor monitors the temperature of the winding through sensors in the stator windings.
The AKM42G-ACMNEH-00 is precision equipment that requires delicate handling. The shaft and the flange are vulnerable to shock especially during transportation and storage. The operator should avoid brute force since it leads to bearing and shaft damage. If possible, avoid axial loading since it significantly reduces the life of the motor. All backlash-free coupling should be in the correct position to avoid unnecessary vibration that might damage the coupling and bearings.
