Kollmorgen manufactures the AKM42E-EKCN2-00 as a member of the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. This permanent-magnet servo motor is installed in industrial automation cells where precise position and velocity control are required. When coupled with a digital drive, it delivers tightly regulated shaft torque so that pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, or packaging axes can execute repeatable motion sequences within short cycle times. This operating role also supports accurate starts, stops, and speed changes in compact servo-driven equipment.
The motor is built on an 84 mm frame, a flange size that sets the mounting bolt pattern and overall envelope in multi-axis machines. A shaft machined with an open keyway allows torque transfer through standard keyed couplings without special hubs. Power and feedback are routed through 2 SpeedTec Ready connectors; these quarter-turn plugs help keep cable attachment secure while maintaining shielding continuity. The unit is supplied without an integrated brake, so any static holding function must be provided elsewhere when power is removed.
