The AKM31S-ASMN1-02 is a brushless DC servomotor launched by Kollmorgen. The motor is designed to deliver the best performance for a range of industrial applications. The unit features a special shaft. The device cannot be connected directly to the mains supply. Condensation must be avoided on the surface of the servomotor when handling it. The motor has a 0.5m shielded cable with IP20 connectors. The motor comes with a flange size of 70 mm and a rotor length of 1. It has a S winding type. The feedback device incorporated in the motor is a Comcoder with 1024 PPR. The maximum bus voltage rating of the AKM servomotor is 640 VDC. The motor housing must be safely earthed to the protective earth busbar in the switch cabinet. Without a low-resistance earth connection, it is not possible to ensure electrical safety. During the operation of the device, connectors should never be unplugged. If they are unplugged, there is a danger of severe injury, extensive material damage, or even death. The servomotor does not come with a holding brake. The product has permanent magnets in its rotor. The neodymium-iron-boron magnetic material is a crucial factor in dynamically driving the servomotor. The AKM servomotor should be checked for bearing noise once every 2,500 operating hours. If there is any noise heard during operation, the operation of the device must be stopped, and the bearing should be replaced. The user should not open the motor for cleaning or any other purpose. Opening the motor invalidates the warranty. If the housing is dirty, it can be cleaned using isopropanol or a similar chemical. Under any circumstances, immersing or spraying should be avoided.
