The AKM12C-SSSNR-03 is a synchronous servo motor produced by Kollmorgen in the AKM Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as a compact drive element for motion axes that require precise torque, speed, and position regulation in industrial automation equipment such as pick-and-place stations, indexing tables, and miniature gantries. By combining a small frame with high-performance windings, the motor integrates easily with Kollmorgen digital amplifiers and supports responsive closed-loop control.
The model is supplied without a brake, making it appropriate for machinery that maintains position through drive torque or external clamping. A special connector arrangement sets the orientation of the power and feedback plugs to fit tight enclosures and minimize cable bending. Shaft angle is measured by a resolver with a two-pole excitation scheme, providing reliable analog feedback throughout each mechanical revolution. This transducer supplies single-turn inductive position data, so the drive receives the absolute angle within one full rotation without multi-turn tracking. The magnetic stack uses rotor length index 2, balancing inertia and torque output for medium dynamic loads.
