Product Description:
The AKI2G-CDB-MOD-12T-000 operator panel from Kollmorgen belongs to the AKI Interface Panels series. The unit combines a TFT-LCD display with LED backlighting capable of showing 262k colors to present machine data, alarms, and diagnostics on a compact front panel. By supplying touch-based control and graphical feedback in one enclosed module, the panel acts as the human-machine interface layer in automated cells, packaging lines, and motion platforms, allowing PLCs and drives in the network to be supervised through on-screen menus. This arrangement lets machine functions be monitored from one location instead of relying on separate indicator devices.
For application logic and visualization, the panel employs an i.MX6DualLite Dual Cortex-A9 CPU supported by an L2 cache of 512 kB. That processor is clocked at 1.0 GHz, providing deterministic screen updates while leaving headroom for scripting tasks. User programs and historical logs reside in a 1.5 GB SSD eMMC, while run-time variables are buffered by 1 GB DDR3 memory to maintain smooth animations. The video pipeline drives a 12.1 in diagonal screen at a native 1280 × 800 resolution, offering ample pixel density for detailed mimic diagrams. All electronics are powered from a regulated 24 V DC source that can share the same supply as other control cabinet auxiliaries. This hardware balance supports responsive screen changes, recipe handling, and alarm history access during routine operation.
Display interaction is handled through a Resistive touch surface, so operators wearing gloves can acknowledge prompts without losing accuracy. The LED backlight outputs 400 cd/m2 and is rated for 50,000 h of service, supporting continuous shift duty before replacement is required. Plant connectivity is provided by 2 x 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports for segregated networks and by 2 x USB Host 2.0 connectors for recipe transfer or barcode scanners. External storage and peripheral devices can be connected directly at the panel for file transfer and local data entry. During operation, the hardware draws 28.8 W, which can be supported by natural convection inside most NEMA enclosures without adding forced cooling.
