The AKI-CDA-MOD-04T is an operator interface panel manufactured by Kollmorgen for the AKI Interface Panels series. Installed on machine fronts or cabinet doors, it acts as the local human-machine interface that presents status graphics, alarms, and recipe data while accepting touch commands that write directly to controller registers. The module replaces discrete push buttons and indicator lamps with a single programmable screen, simplifying wiring and improving diagnostic visibility in automated production lines.

A TFT-LCD with an LED backlight forms the display, measuring 95.0 × 53.9 mm and delivering a resolution of 480 × 272 pixels; this pixel count allows process information to be shown without excessive scrolling. The viewing area sits inside a panel with a screen diagonal of 4.3 in, providing a compact display that fits small enclosures. User input arrives through a polyester-on-glass resistive touchscreen. A 400 MHz ARM9 processor executes the visualization runtime, while an Ethernet controller with 1 × 10/100 Base-T port links the panel to PLC networks. One extension module slot is available for fieldbus protocols, and a host USB 2.0 connector supplies 200 mA for data transfer or keyboard attachment. Continuous operation draws only 3.6 W, so heat generation inside tight cabinets remains low. The electronics have access to 128 MB (DDR2) of system RAM for graphics buffering and recipe storage. A molded bezel and gasket provide a front-panel protection level of IP65, permitting surface mounting on machines exposed to dust or water jets.
