Product Description:
The AKD2G-SPE-6V12S-A3F3-0000 servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen as part of the AKD2G Servo Drives series. It is a second-generation unit that delivers closed-loop torque, velocity, and position control for brushless servomotors used in packaging cells, pick-and-place stations, and material-handling axes. By integrating the power stage, control electronics, and fieldbus interface in a compact housing, the device simplifies cabinet layouts in industrial automation lines. Its internal regulators and digital signal processor handle commutation and diagnostics without external add-on cards.
The drive is configured for single-axis operation, meaning one servomotor is controlled by each unit. For network communication, it supports EtherCAT, allowing deterministic cyclic data exchange with multi-axis controllers. Its power stage is built into an IP20 servo enclosure, so the drive must be mounted inside a control cabinet that limits dust ingress and prevents accidental contact with energized components. The mains input accepts 120/240 VAC, single-phase or three-phase power, providing flexibility for different industrial power systems. Continuous output reaches 12 A RMS, which is the maximum current the drive can continuously deliver to the motor without derating.
Positioning logic is executed internally by the Position Indexer, which stores motion tasks and sequences to reduce the processing load on the central PLC. Field wiring is grouped on connector +X23, consolidating digital and analog signals for a more organized cabinet connection. The integrated safety system achieves SIL 3 and includes STO, SS1-t, SS2, SBC, safe I/O, and FSoE functions. These functions support controlled stopping, safe brake control, and torque removal for machinery with demanding safety requirements. The electronics use MAP Revision A, supporting compatibility with the applicable feedback devices for this AKD2G platform.
