Product Description:

The DUE-60WKS-CE240/22PO analog servo amplifier is produced by Kollmorgen within the 60WKS Analog Servo Amplifiers series. It regulates armature current for permanent-magnet or brushed DC servo motors so that machine axes follow velocity or torque commands generated by a motion controller. By converting three-phase supply power into a controlled DC output, the unit closes the current loop at high speed, making it suitable for precision positioning tables, pick-and-place heads, and similar automation tasks that need rapid current modulation.

The current regulator is tuned to a bandwidth of 1 kHz, allowing motor torque to settle within one millisecond after a command step. During continuous operation, the amplifier delivers 22 A, while a reinforced power stage can provide up to 50 A for short acceleration bursts. The output stage switches at 8.5 kHz, a frequency high enough to minimize audible noise yet low enough to limit switching losses. The internal DC link is maintained at 240 VDC and is derived from a 3 × 172 V three-phase supply through a six-pulse rectifier. With this link voltage, the unit requires a minimum motor inductance of 0.7 mH to keep ripple current within safe limits, and it protects itself from excessive demand by limiting the connected load to 3.7 kVA.

Command signals enter through the Setpoint 1 port, which interprets ±10 V references with an input impedance of 150 kΩ, so upstream controllers are only lightly loaded. The power section dissipates 140 W under rated load and draws 12 W while quiescent, and these values affect cabinet cooling calculations. Protection class IP00 requires the amplifier to be mounted inside an enclosure to prevent accidental contact with exposed components. Its 1.4 kg mass and compact 220 × 233.4 × 45 mm outline simplify rail or backplate installation, while the internal 5 V voltage drop is accounted for in drive sizing software to maintain the commanded motor current.
