The 60WKS-CE240/6PB is an analog servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen within the 60WKS Analog Servo Amplifiers series. It operates as a torque-mode drive that receives command signals from a motion controller. The amplifier delivers regulated current to servomotors, forming the inner current loop needed for accurate, low-latency positioning in automated machinery. Its analog architecture supports responsive torque control for machine axes that require rapid corrections during acceleration, deceleration, and changes in load.
The power section operates with a rated DC-link voltage of 240 V. At this bus voltage, the amplifier can supply a continuous motor phase current of 6 A and a short-duration peak current of 15 A for acceleration or disturbance rejection. Protection circuitry disconnects the power stage when the link voltage rises to 325 V, helping protect the converter components from an excessive bus voltage. The output transistors switch at 8.5 kHz, while the analog current loop has a bandwidth of 1 kHz for fast torque modulation without excessive current ripple. The connected motor must have an inductance of at least 2.5 mH, and the command input has a resistance of 150 kΩ for compatibility with high-impedance signal sources. The amplifier has a voltage drop of 5 V at rated current and supports a peak installed DC-link load of 1 kVA. Integrated ballast circuitry and a matched resistor dissipate regenerated energy during motor deceleration, removing the need for separate external braking hardware.
The maximum mains fuse rating is 3 × 20 A, providing overcurrent protection for the incoming power connection. Power is supplied through a three-phase isolating transformer, which separates the amplifier from line disturbances and provides the required input arrangement. The internal supply provides an auxiliary output of ±15 V for encoder electronics or external signal-conditioning modules. The main converter is fully integrated into the amplifier, so an external rectifier is not required. This arrangement allows the power stage, auxiliary supply, and regenerative braking components to operate within one drive assembly.
