The 60WKS-CE240/22PB is an analog servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen within the 60WKS Analog Servo Amplifiers series. The unit converts a fixed DC bus into precisely modulated phase currents so that brushless or brushed servo motors follow commanded torque or velocity profiles in industrial automation axes. By delivering controlled current rather than open-loop voltage, the amplifier closes the inner torque loop of a multi-axis motion system, enabling accurate positioning on packaging lines, pick-and-place stations, and other equipment.

To integrate with a shared supply, the amplifier operates on a rated DC link of 240 V. Output capacity under continuous duty reaches 22 A, while short acceleration bursts can rise to 50 A without saturating the output transistors. Current control is handled by a proportional-integral loop whose bandwidth is 1 kHz, and the dual-edge pulse pattern is clocked at 2 × 8.5 kHz to minimize ripple in the motor windings. Kollmorgen specifies three 20-ampere semiconductor fuses on the AC side to limit fault energy, and motors connected to the drive must present at least 0.7 mH of phase inductance to keep switching transients within safe limits. Line-side and internal protections complement these performance features. At rated current, the unit sheds 140 W as heat, so forced-air cabinet cooling is recommended; no chassis cover is provided because the protection classification is IP00. An integrated ballast resistor absorbs regenerative energy with 135 W of continuous capability or 5.4 kW in pulses. It engages when the bus climbs to 300 V and releases at 285 V, helping prevent unnecessary overvoltage trips during rapid deceleration.
