The 29.Z1.C05-1000 is a three-phase output filter produced by KEB and included in the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. In automation panels, it is connected between a drive and the motor to smooth the pulse-width-modulated waveform, reducing high-frequency leakage currents and limiting conducted emissions that can interfere with nearby equipment. Because the filter sits on the motor side of the inverter, it conditions the switched output before the waveform reaches the cable run and motor terminals. By performing this conditioning task, the filter protects downstream wiring, helps machines meet EMC requirements, and extends the service life of motor insulation.
This model carries a rated continuous current of 360 A at a line voltage of 480 V. Within these operating points, it can deliver up to 300 hp of motor power while maintaining the fundamental output frequency of 60 Hz. For momentary overloads, it tolerates 150% for 60 sec every 10 min, so drives may start heavy loads without exceeding thermal limits. The design contains two capacitor assemblies that work with its laminated core to create the required low-pass response, and the combined reactive elements account for 2,686 W of full-load power loss that must be removed by cabinet airflow. Incoming and outgoing cables up to 240 mm² connect to aluminum busbars tightened to 60 Nm, and auxiliary grounding is provided through an M12 stud while a separate M16 ring stud bonds the enclosure. The short-circuit current rating is 10 kA, and branch protection devices sized no higher than 540 A may be applied.
Overall efficiency exceeds more than 99%, limiting heat rise during steady operation. The enclosure carries an IP20 / Open Type designation, so it mounts inside a covered cabinet where touch protection and convection space are assured. When fed from a circuit breaker no larger than 540 A, the filter restricts total harmonic current distortion to ≤8%, which helps drives meet IEEE-519 guidelines and keeps upstream transformers from overheating. This arrangement suits enclosed industrial control cabinets where the drive, filter, and protective devices are mounted together.
