Product Description:
The 29.Z1.C04-1000 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB for the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Installed downstream of a frequency inverter, it reconstructs a near-sinusoidal waveform so induction motors operate with lower voltage stress and reduced differential noise. This filter helps automated machinery meet industrial emission limits while protecting motor insulation on long cable runs in industrial power systems.
The filter achieves an energy efficiency of >99%, so only a small fraction of the processed power is converted to heat during continuous service. It is specified for a line voltage of 400 V at grid frequencies of 50/60 Hz, allowing direct connection to standard European and North American mains. Rated current is 485 A, and the terminals accept supply and load conductors up to 2 × 240 mm². These limits indicate the motor load the filter can support without saturation or excessive thermal rise. The filter keeps total harmonic distortion of input current below 8% and limits motor-side voltage distortion to less than 15%, which supports drive efficiency and helps protect upstream switchgear.
For transient events such as acceleration or regenerative braking, the design permits an overload of 150% for 60 seconds every 10 minutes before thermal limits are approached. Nominal apparent power handling is 250 kW, and resistive losses are limited to 1800 W, which helps with enclosure ventilation planning. An IP20 housing provides finger-safe access inside a control cabinet, while climatic class 3K3 allows operation in environments up to 40 °C with moderate condensation. Protective earth connects through an M12 stud, and a normally closed thermal contact reports excess coil temperature to the drive controller. Total assembly mass is 513 kg, so floor or panel mounting structures must support the installed load.
