The 27.Z1.C05-1000 sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter is produced by KEB and belongs to the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. It is installed between an inverter and an induction or synchronous motor to smooth the pulse-width-modulated output, which reduces voltage stress and radiated emissions in automated machinery. By lowering common-mode interference, the unit helps connected drive systems meet plant noise limits and can help extend motor insulation life in conveyor lines, packaging cells, and other motion platforms.
The filter incorporates two capacitor assemblies that shape the sinusoidal waveform while maintaining efficiency above 99%. Its magnetic path and dielectric spacing are designed for inverter output voltages up to 480 V AC, allowing use with many KEB drive systems. When paired with a suitable drive, the module supports motors rated up to 200 hp without derating. It is tuned for a fundamental frequency of 60 Hz, which aligns with standard North American power systems. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, so the terminals are finger-safe but not sealed against liquid entry. During short overloads, the choke and capacitors can tolerate 150% for 60 s / 10 min, which helps prevent nuisance trips during acceleration.
