Product Description:
The 24.Z1.C04-1000 is a sine-wave EMC filter manufactured by KEB within the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. It is mounted on the motor side of a variable-frequency drive, where it reduces steep voltage edges before they reach the motor and outgoing cable. By smoothing the inverter output waveform, the unit helps limit radiated interference, switching noise, and electrical stress on motor insulation in industrial automation systems. This arrangement is especially useful where long motor leads or nearby sensitive equipment make cleaner output power desirable.
The filter is designed for a grid potential of 400 V, so it can remain connected to that nominal line-to-line supply during normal operation. Its continuous line current capability is 189 A, which suits medium-power inverter duty without excessive thermal loading. It is rated for 50/60 Hz operation, allowing use on either common mains frequency. Power and load cables terminate on connections sized for 95 mm² conductors, which supports the copper cross section needed for the rated current. For short overload conditions, the filter permits 150% for 60 s / 10 min, allowing brief acceleration or braking periods. A normally closed thermal contact provides temperature monitoring, and an M10 grounding stud is included for the protective-earth connection.
The unit has a rated power of 90 kW, making it suitable for converter and motor combinations in that output class. Internal dissipation is 950 W, so the enclosure design must remove this heat through adequate airflow or another suitable cooling path. The housing is rated IP20, which provides finger protection and requires installation inside a control cabinet where dust and moisture are controlled. With a mass of 182.5 kg, the filter needs a rigid mounting surface and careful handling during installation. The stated climatic category calls for a non-condensing environment with normal industrial temperature variation.
