Product Description:
The 21.Z1.F04-1010 sine-wave EMC filter is manufactured by KEB as part of the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Designed for placement on the output side of a variable-frequency drive, it smooths pulse-width-modulated voltage into a near-sinusoidal waveform, so motors experience lower insulation stress, quieter operation, and reduced electromagnetic interference in automated machinery. By limiting steep voltage edges, the filter also curbs bearing currents and extends motor service life in process lines and conveyor systems.
The unit is designed for three-phase networks with a nominal line voltage of 400 VAC and carries a continuous load of 90 A. Its series inductance of 0.13 mH forms the principal damping element that smooths the inverter waveform. The filter can tolerate up to 550 V at the terminals, providing additional margin during regenerative or overvoltage events. It operates with inverter carrier frequencies up to 2 kHz while passing motor fundamental frequencies as high as 100 Hz. The three-phase topology maintains phase symmetry without requiring additional balancing elements. The windings contain 3.6 kg of copper, which lowers resistive losses and helps stabilize the temperature under full-load conditions.
The filter has a power loss of 105 W, so cabinet ventilation must remove the generated heat to keep the winding temperature within acceptable limits. The enclosure weighs 15.6 kg and mounts on a panel through slots that provide a base length of 267 mm and a base width of 109 mm. For bolt alignment, the mounting centers measure 249 mm along the length and 176 mm across the width. The overall height to the terminal clamps reaches 207 mm, which must be considered when arranging the enclosure and routing cables. Adequate space around the terminals allows the required cable-bending radii to be maintained without placing excessive strain on the electrical connections.
