Product Description:
The 21.Z1.F04-1005 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB for the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Installed on the output side of an inverter, the unit works with a dedicated DV/DT output choke to reshape pulse-width-modulated voltage into a near-sinusoidal waveform before it reaches the motor. Reducing the voltage slope lowers bearing currents, minimizes insulation stress, and decreases conducted emissions. The filter is intended for industrial automation cabinets that control induction and synchronous motors at variable speeds.
The filter supports a maximum line voltage of 550 VAC, allowing connection to common 400 V and 480 V systems within the applicable operating limits. Its continuous current capacity of 100 A supports medium-power drive applications. The filter core accommodates carrier frequencies up to 16 kHz; operation above this threshold may increase impedance, power losses, and internal heating. For 400 V and 480 V installations, the device corresponds to F6 frame sizes 21 and 22. Systems operating at 230 V use F6 frame sizes 18 and 19. These electrical values help maintain effective waveform attenuation while limiting the voltage drop across the filter.
The enclosure measures 8.2 inches deep, 6.1 inches wide, and 10.5 inches high. Its proportions allow placement beside contactors or circuit breakers in a suitable control cabinet. The terminal arrangement and airflow paths support organized installation with related drive components. The internal winding structure is intended for close coupling with the companion output choke, allowing the leads between the devices to remain short. Short lead lengths reduce stray inductance and help control conducted emissions in machinery installations. Adequate clearance around the housing should be maintained so air can circulate and connection points remain accessible during installation and inspection.
