Product Description:

The 19.Z1.C04-1001 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB within the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. It is installed between an inverter and a three-phase motor to smooth the pulse-width-modulated output so that the load receives a sinusoidal voltage with reduced common-mode noise. By attenuating high-frequency voltage gradients, the device protects motor insulation, lowers bearing currents, and limits electromagnetic interference on adjacent control wiring in industrial automation systems. This makes it well suited for installations with long motor cables, older motor insulation systems, or layouts where nearby sensors and signal lines must remain stable during drive operation.

During continuous operation, the filter is rated for 30 kW at a line voltage of 400 V, and it can conduct up to 63 A of phase current without derating. The copper bars accept conductors up to 35 mm², and a dedicated M8 PE stud provides the protective-ground connection to the housing. Those connection points support low-resistance power routing and a direct grounding path inside the cabinet. System efficiency exceeds 99%, which keeps internal losses low during normal load conditions. Total harmonic distortion of the current remains at or below 15%, helping reduce torque ripple at the motor. The 3K3 climatic category allows indoor mounting in locations where temperature and humidity remain moderate.

Short-term transients are managed by an overload tolerance of 150% for 60 s every 10 min, enabling the filter to absorb current spikes during rapid acceleration or regenerative braking. Under nominal load, the iron-core design dissipates roughly 360 W of heat. That heat is removed by natural convection inside panels that satisfy the IP20 touch-safe standard. Despite its passive construction, the assembly weighs 38.7 kg, so cabinet shelves or backplates must support the load without deformation and allow secure mounting. Because the filter contains magnetic components rather than active switching electronics, its performance depends on correct placement, airflow space, and solid mechanical support.
