Product Description:

The 18.Z1.C04-1001 is a sine-wave EMC filter produced by KEB for the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Installed between an inverter and an induction motor, it smooths the pulse-width-modulated output so downstream cabling and machinery are exposed to near-sinusoidal current. By lowering conducted emissions and reducing motor insulation stress, the unit supports reliable drive operation in industrial automation where harmonic control and electromagnetic compatibility are important.

This filter is engineered for a rated current of 52.5 A at a nominal line of 400 V AC and 50 Hz. At those operating conditions, internal impedance results in only 295 W of power loss, and that heat is removed through natural convection without forced airflow. The housing has an IP20 rating for cabinet installation, and the connection terminals accept conductors up to 35 mm². Leakage current remains at 0 mA, which helps prevent unnecessary trips of residual-current devices. If the incoming voltage reaches 440 V, the filter still keeps total harmonic distortion of current below the THDi limit while maintaining partial weighted harmonic distortion below 39 percent. Its physical dimensions are 152 mm in height, 300 mm in depth, and 316 mm in width.

The filter supports motors up to 22 kW without exceeding insertion losses, making it suitable for many medium-power pumps, fans, and conveyors. A mass of 33 kg gives the assembly solid thermal inertia during steady-state operation and supports stable cabinet mounting. Under continuous duty, the convection path maintains component temperature so harmonic suppression remains within a THDi ceiling of < 15 %. Front-mounted terminals allow accessible wiring and visual inspection during installation, and a Pwhd value below 39 percent helps keep voltage distortion low across a broad load range.
