Internal Product Review
The 18.Z1.C04-1000 is a KEB Z1 sine wave EMC filter built for 400 V operation with a 52.5 A rated current. Performance is especially appealing in drive systems that require 50/60 Hz compatibility and an 8% THD rating for cleaner electrical behavior. The 150% overload rating for 60 s / 10 min makes this filter a strong choice for 22 kW applications.

Product Description:
The 18.Z1.C04-1000 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB and assigned to the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Positioned on the output side of a variable-frequency drive, it attenuates switching harmonics so that a connected motor receives a smooth sinusoidal voltage, which reduces acoustic noise, losses, and insulation stress in conveyor lines, pumps, and other automated machinery. The filter achieves this by combining inductive and capacitive elements sized for inverter applications common throughout industrial plants.
Electrically, the unit is designed for a nominal line voltage of 400 V and can pass a continuous phase current of 52.5 A to the load. These limits match the output of converters controlling motors up to 22 kW. Operation is possible on both 50 Hz and 60 Hz networks, with the dual-frequency capability identified as 50/60 Hz. For short production surges, the filter sustains 150 % for 60 s / 10 min, allowing the drive to handle acceleration or overload events without exceeding thermal limits. These ratings cover the steady-state and transient energy that the internal windings and cores can safely process.
The open-frame assembly carries a protection class of IP20, so it must be mounted inside a panel yet remains easy to access through its 35 mm² screw terminals and the dedicated M8 PE stud. Under nominal load, the filter dissipates 285 W, so enclosure airflow must accommodate this heat. Harmonic suppression limits total current distortion to 8 %, ensuring that upstream conductors and breakers see near-sinusoidal current. Despite its 337 mm depth, 352 mm width, and 185 mm height, installation is aided by lifting points because the assembly weighs 54.6 kg. The climatic category 3K3 indicates suitability for clean, conditioned control cabinets rather than outdoor duty.
