Product Description:
The 15.Z1.C04-1001 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB and assigned to the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. It is installed downstream of variable-frequency drives to smooth the pulse-width-modulated output before the motor terminals, reducing differential noise and helping protect motor insulation on 400 V class machines. This placement also reduces steep voltage edges at the motor connection, which is useful where cable runs and inverter switching can stress the winding system. By attenuating harmonics, the filter helps industrial automation systems meet current distortion limits and can extend motor service life.
The filter is designed for a nominal line voltage of 400 VAC at 50 Hz and carries a continuous load of 25.2 A. When paired with drives that supply up to 11 kW of mechanical power, it keeps THDi below 15%, while the total harmonic distortion of the voltage remains below 39%. In short overload events, it tolerates 150% for 60 s, enabling brief acceleration or braking sequences without saturation. Internal reactive components dissipate only 165 W, which helps limit thermal buildup during continuous operation. Connection terminals accept 16 mm² conductors, the maximum operating voltage is limited to 440 V, and leakage current is 0 mA. The copper-wound inductors account for 5.8 kg of the total mass.
An enclosure rated at IP20 allows mounting inside standard control panels where accidental contact protection is needed. Heat is removed through passive convection, and the overall package weighs 16.3 kg, making the unit suitable for wall or floor installation without extra support. The three-line configuration matches three-phase inverter outputs used in industrial motor systems. Identical inductance in each phase helps keep filtering behavior consistent across the output lines.
