Internal Product Review
The 15.Z1.B05-1000 is a KEB Z1 sine wave EMC filter designed for 3-phase systems at 480 VAC. RJ45 sync connectivity and a short maximum conductor length support clean integration in enclosed drive cabinets. The filter is a well-engineered choice for improving drive-side power quality in demanding industrial installations.

Product Description:
The 15.Z1.B05-1000 is a sine-wave electromagnetic-compatibility filter manufactured by KEB for the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Installed between a pulse-width-modulated drive and its motor, the filter reconstructs a near-sinusoidal output, reducing conducted emissions that could disturb sensors, controls, or adjacent drives in automated cells. By smoothing voltage edges, it also lowers motor insulation stress, decreases audible noise, and supports cabinet-mounted layouts that keep the filter close to the inverter for efficient wiring.
A primary rating of 480 VAC is the highest continuous line-to-line voltage at the input terminals, whereas the alternate rating of 230 VAC lets the same hardware serve lower-power installations without modification. Operation on a three-phase network ensures symmetrical attenuation of common-mode and differential noise produced by typical industrial inverters. Panel integration is guided by a front width of 7.09 in, a front span of 6.54 in, an overall height of 9.45 in, and a side width of 2.95 in, which establish the clearance envelope for thermal airflow. Despite its wound core, the unit weighs only 12.4 lb, which helps with handling during installation or service.
The permissible conductor run of 39 in from filter to motor keeps dV/dt within limits and minimizes voltage overshoot at the winding terminals. Synchronization or diagnostics can be linked through the shielded RJ45 port, with auxiliary connections provided on X2B, X2C, and X2D. Mounting holes drilled to 0.21 in receive standard M5 hardware, and each fastener is tightened to a torque of 6 Nm to secure the 12.4 lb chassis against vibration. A side span of 2.13 in leaves room for adjacent busbars or cable ducts, allowing the filter to sit flush with other power components in dense control cabinets.
