Product Description:
The 14.Z1.C04-1001 filter is produced by KEB within the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Designed for installation between a pulse-width-modulated drive and its associated induction motor, the device smooths the output waveform and limits common-mode noise, supporting reliable motor insulation and reducing radio-frequency interference in automated machinery. By attenuating steep voltage edges, it helps extend cable length and cut conducted emissions, making it a standard component in control cabinets where frequency inverters supply conveyors, pumps, and other production equipment.
Electrical ratings position the unit for medium-power drives working on a three-phase supply of 400 V at the industrial standard of 50/60 Hz. Under this voltage, it handles a continuous line current of 17.3 A and delivers up to 7.5 kW of motor power. Harmonic content after filtering remains below a total demand distortion of 15 %. Internal copper and core losses sum to 135 W, and this heat must be dissipated through natural convection inside the panel. Terminals accept 4 mm² conductors, and an M6 protective-earth stud ties the enclosure to ground. The housing measures 243 mm wide, 260 mm deep, and 105 mm high, allowing it to fit beside the drive without consuming excessive rail space.
Short production surges can be tolerated thanks to an overload margin of 150 % for 60 s every 10 min, enabling brief acceleration periods without overheating the magnetic core. The open chassis carries an IP20 rating, so it must be mounted in a closed cabinet that meets the climatic requirements of category 3K3, where ambient air is clean, dry, and kept within the permitted temperature range. At just 11.5 kg, the assembly is light enough for easy handling during installation, and its low profile permits straightforward routing of incoming and outgoing cables while maintaining the required creepage distances.
