Product Description:
The 14.Z1.C04-1000 is a passive sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter manufactured by KEB as part of the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. The component is wired on the motor side of a variable-frequency drive so that steep inverter switching edges are attenuated and converted into a smooth sinusoidal voltage. By lowering dv/dt, it protects motor windings, decreases electromagnetic interference, and supports compliance with harmonic limits in industrial automation lines. This makes it useful where inverter-fed motors or longer motor cables could otherwise be exposed to higher voltage stress at the terminals.
For line supplies rated at 400 VAC, the filter carries a continuous load of 17.3 A while remaining within its thermal design envelope. It can tolerate excursions up to 440 V without insulation breakdown, and internal dissipation is limited to 180 W, a figure that contributes to an overall efficiency above 98 %. Convection cooling removes this heat without fans, and 6.6 kg of copper conductors provide the necessary flux linkage with minimal resistive loss. The network is tuned for 50 Hz fundamentals, so total harmonic current distortion stays below 8% and the partial weighted harmonic distortion remains under 15%. Because the leakage current is 0 mA, no additional protective-earth monitoring devices are required.
The filter is matched to drives delivering 7.5 kW of mechanical output and is arranged for three-phase circuits, so all three line conductors pass through a common iron core to equalize phase displacement. This arrangement helps keep the phase relationship balanced across the output path. Terminal blocks accept cables up to 16 mm², enabling low-impedance links to both the inverter and the motor. An IP20 housing allows mounting inside a control cabinet where only finger-safe protection is needed, and the total assembled mass is 18.3 kg, permitting panel installation without additional bracing.
