Product Description:
The 12.Z1.C04-1001 is a sine-wave electromagnetic compatibility filter produced by KEB within the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. Installed between an inverter and an induction motor, the device smooths the output voltage waveform so that dV/dt stress and conducted emissions remain within industrial tolerance limits. By lowering harmonic content, the filter helps motors run cooler, reduces acoustic stress on the windings, and limits interference with nearby sensors and communication lines in automation cabinets that use variable-frequency drives.
The unit is designed for a three-phase supply of 400 VAC and delivers a continuous line current of 10 A. A fundamental line frequency of 50 Hz sets the reference for its reactive components, while the enclosure's IP20 rating allows mounting inside protected panels without additional gasketing. It pairs with inverters rated at 4 kW, matching the thermal and magnetic limits of its ferrite core. Wiring is completed through terminals that accept 4 mm² conductors, and convection cooling removes heat without fans, which keeps the installation simple. Total harmonic distortion of the input current stays below 15%, and the partial weighted harmonic distortion is under 39%.
Total power dissipation does not exceed 90 W, allowing the filter to remain within temperature class B under continuous load. Electrical insulation withstands up to 440 V, supplying a safety margin above nominal line voltage. With a mass of 6.8 kg, including 2.2 kg of copper, the assembly can be fastened to machine frames without unusually heavy support. The footprint is 220 mm deep and 175 mm wide, while the 90 mm height leaves clearance for airflow around adjacent components. These dimensions help with cabinet space planning and make it easier to place the filter near the associated drive and motor connections.
