Positioned between a variable-frequency drive and its motor, the unit converts the high-frequency, pulse-width-modulated signal into a nearly sinusoidal waveform. This reduction in voltage steepness lowers insulation stress, limits bearing currents, and cuts audible noise, making the filter a common component in industrial automation panels where inverter-fed motors run continuously.
Electrical sizing targets medium-power drives. The filter is rated for a line-to-line voltage of 400 V and carries a continuous load current of 10 A.
