Product Description:
The 09.Z1.C04-1000 sine wave filter is manufactured by KEB within the Z1 Sine Wave EMC Filters series. It is placed on the motor side of an inverter to convert the steep switching edges of a PWM output into a smooth sinusoidal voltage, thereby reducing conducted and radiated emissions in automated machinery. By limiting dV/dt, the filter also reduces stress on motor insulation.
During continuous operation, the filter handles a 400 V three-phase line and delivers a nominal current of 4.3 A, which corresponds to a motor load of 1.5 kW. Its design supports grid fundamentals at 50/60 Hz, so it can be used worldwide without altering tuning components. Internal core and winding losses amount to 60 W, and this value should be considered in cabinet cooling calculations. Cable lugs up to 4 mm² can be connected to the input and output terminals, while the protective-earth stud uses an M4 bolt. A clearance of 150 mm is required at the sides and top of the housing to maintain convection. The filter meets the 3K3 climatic class, allowing operation in ventilated control rooms that are not directly exposed to outdoor moisture.
For short overloads, the unit can accept 150 % / 60 s / 10 min without thermal damage, giving extra margin during motor acceleration or regeneration. The finger-safe housing has an IP20 protection rating, so it must be mounted inside a closed electrical cabinet. With a mass of 5.8 kg, the filter can be secured on standard DIN rails or panel plates without additional bracing. When paired with an inverter, the recommended maximum cable length between the drive and filter is 5 m, which helps limit parasitic capacitive currents. After power is removed, a minimum off-time of 5 minutes is required before re-energizing to allow internal capacitors to discharge fully and to preserve insulation reliability.
