Product Description:

The TA2S V40 ER TW is a synchronous servo motor manufactured by KEB within the TA Synchronous Servo Motors series. It serves as a compact rotary actuator that converts controlled electrical power into accurate shaft motion for positioning and velocity control in industrial automation cells and machine tool axes. Its synchronous design supports closed-loop motion where stable torque and repeatable speed are required during frequent start-stop cycles.

During continuous operation, the stator windings use a nominal three-phase supply of 400 V AC, enabling rated flux without magnetic saturation. Under this voltage, the rotor can sustain a speed of 4500 rpm, which suits high-speed positioning and direct-coupled axis operation. Peak phase demand reaches 3.85 A, setting the current requirement for the matched drive and motor cable. Short-term overload capability allows the shaft to deliver up to 4.2 Nm, providing acceleration reserve above the nominal torque. The phase inductance of 59.4 mH contributes to a slower current rise characteristic during dynamic commands. A stall torque of 1.4 Nm is available at zero speed. The integrated BRX 2-pole resolver operates at 10 kHz and delivers 7 VAC feedback, while a PTC thermistor embedded in the windings reports thermal load to the drive.

The rotor has 6 poles, which supports smooth electronic commutation through the operating range. An inertia of 0.391 kg cm² supports rapid start-stop cycles without large regenerative peaks. The aluminum housing is rated IP54, guarding internal components from dust and splashing water common on factory equipment. Windings use insulation rated to 155 °C, and the 2.2 kg mass helps move heat into the frame during extended duty. The low mass also reduces the load added to brackets, slides, and other moving machine elements.
