Product Description:

KEB manufactures the TA22 V40 EAM TW as part of the TA Synchronous Servo Motors series. This motor is intended for precise rotary positioning and velocity regulation in automated assembly cells, pick-and-place units, and compact packaging axes where consistent torque delivery and encoder feedback are needed for closed-loop motion control. Its compact servo design supports repeatable movement on small axes that need quick response and stable speed control. That makes it suitable for motion systems that rely on accurate starts, stops, and speed changes across repeated cycles.

The motor has a nominal operating speed of 4500 rpm and delivers continuous shaft torque of 1.45 Nm when supplied from a three-phase bus of 400 V. At that operating point, the phase winding resistance is 29.433 ohms, which affects heat buildup and inverter current-loop tuning, while the rotor inertia of 0.7 kg·cm² helps the axis accelerate quickly during short indexing moves. Absolute position is transmitted through SSI gray-code signaling, the encoder housing is sealed to IP65, and the feedback electronics use a 5 VDC supply. A built-in PTC thermistor reports winding temperature so the controller can reduce load before insulation limits are reached.

For short overload conditions, the motor provides peak torque of 4.65 Nm, and it can hold a load at standstill with 1.55 Nm before position error occurs. Static current in that condition is 1.52 A, and the phase inductance is 30.423 mH, which helps smooth ripple from the pulse-width-modulated supply. The multi-turn feedback resolution of 13-bit ST / 12-bit MT supports fine position interpolation for tight speed control, and the motor also uses a voltage constant of 91.72 mV·min. The shaft is machined to Ø11k6 × 23 mm for direct coupling to precision gearheads, and this layout supports use with compact couplings or gearbox inputs.
